The Permanent collection of the New Salem Museum began in 2005 with Vincent and Laura Barletta’s first acquisition, the oil painting “Leaving Home” by Michael Klein. Since then, they have collected more than fifty contemporary masterworks that will be displayed at the museum on rotation.
Long-term temporary collections of fresh work by renowned international artists, will be curated annually and exhibited throughout the year. This will give visitors, artists and students the opportunity to admire and study a selection of new drawings, paintings, and sculptures up close.
“Everyone is constantly searching the best place to exhibit their art. At the NSMA this annual showcase will encourage professional artists to create stunning work for an opportunity to exhibit alongside other colleagues in friendly competition” says Michael.
