Curriculum

Many of the artists in the permanent collection have studied at several different programs of academic instruction. These range from art institutions to smaller private studios referred to as ateliers. Art Academies have become the most common way of learning to draw, paint and sculpt in a realist manner.

At The New Salem Academy of Fine Art our curriculum will be based on the concept of a graduate program, where students can immerse themselves in the different techniques displayed throughout the collection. Copying old masterworks has been a common practice for understanding what the chosen artist was attempting to express in their art. We believe the opportunity to paint from and study with the artists in person who make up the permanent collection is a rare opportunity, only available through our program.
