Anhelina Holembivska was born in Ukraine, and studied at the National Academy of Fine Arts in Kyiv. After graduating, she moved to Florence, Italy, where she immersed herself in the legacy of Renaissance art.
Although she now lives and works in Florence, memories of home remain central to her work. Many of her paintings are inspired by her mother’s flower garden and the Kyiv Botanical Garden, where she gathers references and paints studies from life. These impressions are later developed in her studio into more carefully composed works. Rosarium emerged from this process. The painting reflects an intimate observation of nature in its transience. Some blossoms are at the peak of their bloom, while others already begin to fade, suggesting the passage of time and the fragility of beauty.
